JAI’S INFINITE LIST OF MOVIES → Grease (1978)

Attention seniors. Before the merriment of commencement commences, I hope that your years with us here at Rydell have prepared you for the challenges you face. Who knows? Among you there may be a future Eleanor Roosevelt or a Rosemary Clooney, and among you young men, there may be a Joe DiMaggio, a President Eisenhower, or even a Vice-President Nixon. But always you will have the glorious memories of Rydell High. Rydell forever. Bon voyage.

Jeff & Rona - Late 1970s - Mid-1980s

Jeff Conaway attends 57th Annual Photoplay Awards on September 29, 1979 at TAV Studios in Hollywood, California.

Tried my best here but hey… Marilu, Jeff & Rona at a Paramount pictures party in June 1979. Jeff was growing a mustache for a tv-movie role.

Marilu Henner managed to cross paths with Jeff Conaway often during their shared time in the acting world. Not only did they star together on the hit sitcom Taxi, but they also appeared together on Broadway in Grease.

“They had induced the coma to try to help him heal from this pneumonia” Henner said. “I thought he was going to pull out of this. When I saw him last week, he was moving his head, he looked so handsome lying there. He seemed good. He looked the best I’d seen him in five years. The Taxi family is really close. But Jeff and I knew each other well. He reminded me of one of my brothers and I reminded him of one his sisters, so we had a real family bond”.
“When we were doing [Andy Kaufman biopic] Man on the Moon, i was so excited because they duplicated the Taxi set. I brought my boys with me, and Jeff watched them in the hair and make-up room while I did something else, and when I walked back into the hair and make-up room, he had turned them completely into greasers” she laughed.
“Jeff was like a brother to me. Tony Danza and I visited Jeff in the hospital almost daily over the past two weeks. We saw how much love surrounded him, along with his sisters, Michelle and Carla, his wife, Kerri, his ex-wife, Rona, and his friend, Lance. Jeff looked the healthiest I’d seen him in a long time and I really thought that he was going to come out of this. I will miss my talented, handsome, loving friend so much.”
